This week, we've been looking at how organization facilitates getting things done. We got to see what we were able to accomplish when tasks are not prioritize well for us. We all accomplished different tasks and a few people choose to do the fun tasks rather than finishing what was already started and needed to be finished. Then we organized the tasks by levels of priority and we discovered it was easier to complete things when we decided first what our priorities should be.
We also put together our learner profile traits and wrote some essential agreements and organized them like a scrabble board. You can see the almost finished product below.
We also started planning for a school newspaper which has been a bit chaotic because they all have many different ideas, interests, and levels of interest too. I asked students to talk at home about how different jobs and workplaces are organized or structured so we would have some ideas about how to best organize our newspaper. If you have not yet had this conversation, please do.
Also be prepared for a possible survey that will ask about what tools and tricks you use at home to stay organized and why!
